Chaos in graphic design
Chaos and geometric order.
Geometric order and chaos include two different concepts.
Geometric order is represented in a mathematical order which includes, (in 2D:
line, circle, quarter, or in 3D: plane, sphere, cube) and ideal relationships
(perpendicularly, parallelism, symmetry, rhythm/regularity). However, Chaos is
the opposite to geometric order. Chaos
includes forms and relationships which are complex and difficult to describe
with the language of classic maths.
Figure 1 explored two graphic compositions, the first
composition exploring a chaotic background with a regular area (geometric
area), compared to the right image which shows a geometric background which
includes a chaotic area.
