Charles Worrall and Isla Pearce Collaboration

Charles Worrall and Isla Pearce collaboration with Peter and Paul. Peter and Paul is a studio based in Sheffield, where they work with branding for collages. The brief entailed creating something innovative, strong, visual identity, creative and eye catching.

The initial research began by researching into previous shows in LCA. Previous work incorporated strong type and photography. The concepts were too corporate and too clean. However this did not represent the college as a whole as everyone is not clean, everyone is different and unique in their own way.

The designers adapted this but finding the middle ground this was shown through objects and spray painting to establish the idea of artistic practise. The feedback given was the objects originally were too literal. The objects needed to reflect the college. The name did not communicate the concept directly. The idea conceptually captivates everyone. Objects needed to be more conceptual.

The feedback given was to incorporate all the objects inspired by Jay Z's work from the blueprint.
However the problem with this idea was it was too hard to adapt all the objects into one. The design process showed they went through a full circle, this allows the clients to show they took the feedback on board and took on their advice and critique.

The design will represent: student centred composition, creative communities, critical thinking, professional, progressive.

The idea will have to have relevance and concept. To justify ideas and to create sense and purpose.

The name changed to Extraordinary. The name establishes different elements of a student. The design explores different backgrounds, and paint.

The paint represents the interdisciplinary nature of things, this is shown through the bright colours. The neon colours will be memorable. The typeface is simplistic, bold, quirky, and circular.

The inspiration through holding the objects came through the Nike airmax adverts to establish power and pride.

The aspect of holding objects represents a human aspect.
