Alone Together: Zine Prototype

I created thumbnail sketches to help structure the zine. The examples are pages from my sketchbook.

I then developed these thumbnails layouts onto Illustrator and ensured the size was A5 size, 300pi and saved as tiffs. These pages were then placed onto InDesign.

Prototype: 1

Examples of each page to show the order of the zine.

From the critique, it was stated to test printed copies, as the colour may not be visible when printing the final copy. It was suggested to change the colour scheme. It was also stated to use the typeface created for the quotes to make the type pages more visually exciting. Taking thus advice onboard, I created page layouts on Illustrator, developing the quotes to be more decorative.

However, further feedback stated how these layouts looked messy and less clean compared to the original type layouts. Therefore, I decided to stick to my original design but used a darker green for the type and increased the size point to ensure the type was eligible.

Format

The zine was printed and binded into a saddle stitch

Overall, the feedback suggested that the outcome of the zine would not be as powerful compared to a campaign. Therefore, to develop this project further I will create a logo branding for a campaign as this will be more effective.
