Prototypes

The prototypes were created for a 100 page publication, However during research, I felt the designs may be repetitive and would look more effective in a minimal page format.

The final outcome consisted of 30 pages.

Binding Techniques

Exploration of binding techniques, which technique will be appropriate for the content?

I also watched tutorials on binding techniques on youtube.

Saddle Stitch

During the critique, this stitch was stated the most successful for the particle zine I was creating. As there is less pages, this stitch is more appropriate.

Coptic Stitch

Kettle Stitch

These two stitches would be more appropriate for a larger piece publication. As this zine one consists of 30 pages the stitch will not work effectively. The kettle stitch prototype shows an example with less pages. It is not successful compared to the other binds as it looks flimsy and not at a high quality.

Format was considered. The final quality was on an uncoated paper as the paper was more white so the colour would appear better.
