Alone Together: Campaign development

To develop the project further, I have decided to create a campaign which will include the illustrative zine, acting as a hand out. To achieve this, I intend to create branding by designing a logo. The name of the campaign is, "let her go". The name was influenced by the "set her free" campaign. The use of the graphic design layout being a three by three, worked successfully. I wanted to develop this idea further by creating the campaign.

Initial Idea 1

For this idea, I wanted too create a typographic logo. The type selected was the type created influenced by Yazidi symbols. This idea was taken by the critique, as it was stated to create a logo from the typography. During the critique, it was stated to make the type more thicker.

Initial Idea 2

For the second initial idea, I wanted to create a visual logo, which related to the illustrative concept created throughout the zine. These were designed through thumbnail sketches and developed on Illustrator.

Development

Experimenting with different colour ways influenced by the zine development process.

Feedback stated that the typographic layout was more powerful and memorable compared tot he visual element of a face. I developed the idea of type further by creating prototypes for stickers and badges.

Creating Prototypes by using the visual and typographic logo ideas.

Prototype 1:

Creating a front and back hoody. The front of the hoody will how the visual logo and the back will show the typographic element of the logo. This was influenced by the disclosure hoody, as I wanted to create something which was mainstream and trendy.

However, during the critique, it was stated that the typographic logo was more powerful and should be placed on the front as this will make the campaign flow better. Therefore, I created another prototype with the typography being placed on the front.

Prototype 2:

Overall, it was stated that this prototype was more successful compared to prototype 1 as it creates more of a brand identity and will me more memorable. It was also stated that the layout of the type was successful and works effectively for the final logo design. To develop this further, I will create a shoot with the prototypes to show the final campaign idea.
