Structure
Planning a structure for the publication. What sections will be explored. How can I communicate that which breaks up the content. To develop the designs further to create meaning and understanding, the drawings explores designs of title pages. The title pages are clean and clear to communicate space and to play with the eye of something being complex to minimalistic. This relates to feeling in youth culture, of each moment coming into a rush, and adrenaline rush.
The title pages will include the artists, to credit the artist as well as to create links between each picture.
Fragmentation with type.
Exploring layouts of Content page. Which will relate to the other designs. The designs of the content being cut up and being played out on a right hand column relates to fragmentation. The layout of the right relates to the individuality, uniqueness, as a magazine usually is read from left to right. It plays on that concept.
Exploring ideas for the title page. Initially I imaged the title page to be simple, placing one image from the nostalgic series, being taped in the centre with the type of the title. However, due to the development of the content page, during the crit, it was stated that perhaps a minimalistic title page, purely typographic, will relate to the other title pages created. It will create a continuous flow.
Exploring layouts of fragmentation. Creating a structure before applying the ideas on photoshop. Different layouts taken through contextual resources.
