Hassan Rahim is an artist and art director originally from Los Angeles, now working out of New York.
Concept- Memory Fragments
The concept stems from this idea of life review, your life flashes before your eyes. Vignettes of memories, colours, people, shapes, and feelings which are used in snippets.
The content will appear loose in concept, but will contain deeper autobiographical meanings.
Memories will be shown through a cast of friends, family, places, moments, and scenery such as hometown.
Every little piece will have a story.
Colour scheme
The colour will focus a positive, optimistic tones: bright lighting with cyan, yellow, orange, blue gels. This will be produced through cinema lights to create a constant energy but also retain a dark moody contrast.
The main communication tool will be a structured collage system, tight crops of unknown, mysteriously framed imagery will head to the user conclude their own story.
Textures are used to flatten images together into a compounded story. Textures are created digitally such as LCD screen moires and lo-fi pixelation.
Different formats have been used such as printing, rescanning.
Content
people: Phil- artist, friends, dances- the record the movement to understand motion.
Places which are local landmarks, concrete buildings, metro station textures.
Objects
Metallics such as stainless steel, knifes, cymbals, tin foil, black foil, emergency blankets.
Reflective and refractions:mirrors, tinted mirrors, plexus glass, tinted plexus glass, glass.
Organics: liquids, sand. Fruit and flowers (good and rotten). Skin shot macro (different tones, textures, freckles)
Plastic: bags, melted bottles, chains, Tyvek envelope.
Fabrics: silk, wool, jersey, pebble grain leather canvas.
