Production: Binding

My practise decided to pick a glued perfect bind as this was taken from contextual research into other binds of magazines. The process includes glueing separate pages together.

Creating Prototypes

This helped to test out the bind to ensure a better finish. However to develop the prototypes further, a bind should have been produced with the same formate of the magazine, to reduce issues which occurred during production.

Production

During the production, the pages were lined up and placed in a presser. The mesh was applied over the top to secure the pages together.

This was left overnight in the presser.

This ensured the glue dried and the magazine was secure.

In future, I will consider appropriate format when creating prototypes. The front cover will also have to be applied with the presser to ensure a tighter finish.
